Robert “Sput” Searight is an American drummer, composer, and producer widely recognized for his work with the Grammy Award–winning collective Snarky Puppy. Known for his explosive energy, deep groove, and technical command, Searight has become one of the most influential drummers in contemporary funk, fusion, and modern jazz.

Born in Dallas, Texas, Searight developed a strong musical foundation early on, studying jazz and performance before becoming an integral part of the Dallas music scene. His drumming combines precision with raw intensity, seamlessly blending complex rhythmic ideas with an unmistakable sense of feel. This balance has made him a defining voice within Snarky Puppy’s rhythm section, contributing to the band’s global success and critical acclaim.
