Faye Milton

Faye Milton came blasting onto the modern rock scene as the drummer behind Savages — tense, driving, and fearless, with a style that hit like a drum machine and a punk band at the same time. Her playing helped define Savages’ sound and live intensity, and it made her one of the most recognized drummers of the 2010s post-punk revival.

With Savages (formed 2011), Milton played on the band’s two studio albums, Silence Yourself (2013) and Adore Life (2016), both of which were nominated for the Mercury Prize. That era established her reputation for raw power, sharp dynamics, and relentless forward motion — always serving the song, never overplaying.

What she’s doing now: Milton has stepped into a broader creative role beyond the kit through Goddess — her collaborative project where she acts as producer/curator and builds songs around female and gender-expansive artists. In 2025, Goddess activity increased with announcements and press surrounding the project’s self-titled debut album, positioning her current work more in terms of production, songwriting direction, and creative leadership (while still being a drummer at its core).

Recordings/credits: Savages recordings remain her best-known credits (Silence Yourself; Adore Life), while Goddess represents her newest recording chapter — less “band drummer,” more producer-led collaboration and modern studio identity.

Gear: Ludwig Drums.
