Benny Greb is an educator and clinician widely recognized for his musical versatility, groove‑centered playing, and influential teaching methods. Born June 13, 1980, in Augsburg, Germany, Greb began his drumming journey at age six and took formal lessons from age twelve. Over his career, he has performed with a wide range of musical styles. Rock, jazz, funk, fusion, and acoustic,  making him one of the most respected drummers of his generation.

Greb has collaborated with numerous artists and ensembles worldwide, including Stoppok, The Ron Spielman Trio, The Benny Greb Brass Band, Sabri Tulug Tirpan, Jerobeam, Bobby McFerrin, the NDR Big Band on their Frank Zappa project, 3erGezimmeR, Wayne Krantz, and Strom & Wasser. He has appeared at major drum festivals and events globally, including the Modern Drummer Festival and PASIC, and conducts clinics and masterclasses internationally.

In addition to performing, Greb is a dedicated educator who has released several highly regarded instructional works, including “The Language of Drumming” and “The Art and Science of Groove,” which have influenced drummers worldwide.

Greb leads several musical projects as well as his own band, Moving Parts. His solo recordings, Grebfruit, Brass Band, Two Day Trio, and Grebfruit 2 showcase his compositional depth as well as his rhythmic creativity.


Gear:
Sonor Drums, Meinl Percussion, Remo, and Vic Firth. He plays Sonor Vintage Series drums and developed his signature snares with Sonor. His signature Meinl Byzance series cymbals, such as the Sand Ride and Sand Hats, are known for their controlled sound and musical versatility. Remo drumheads and Vic Firth sticks add to his groove‑centric style.
