Tyler Mahurin is a touring and recording drummer best known for his work in the alternative/post-hardcore world, including key time with A Static Lullaby, plus high-profile touring work that put him on major stages worldwide. His style is built for modern rock: aggressive, tight, and consistent — the kind of playing that holds a big live production together night after night.
Mahurin’s early visibility came through the 2000s scene, including A Static Lullaby, where he became part of the band’s later-era lineup and touring cycle. Modern Drummer also featured him during that era, highlighting his steady climb as a full-time touring drummer and his real-world, road-tested approach to the job.
He later became widely known to many fans as the touring drummer for Hollywood Undead, playing acoustic drums during their live shows. Outside of that lane, his career has included additional touring situations across the rock circuit.
What he’s doing now: In a recent personal statement shared on social media, Mahurin said that after nearly 20 years of touring he decided to step down, adding that it isn’t the end — just “a new chapter.”
